This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the stage debut of this Tony and Obie Award-winning play. 'For Colored Girls', a passionately-feminist spellbinding choreopoem, is a fluid collection of vivid prose and free verse narratives about and performed by black women. Through dance, music, and poetry, the women are united in sorrow, spirit, pride, and soul, while celebrating their beauty, their friendships, their scars, their successes, and their connection to something larger and divine. 'For Colored Girls' evokes feelings that continue to excite, inspire and transform audiences around the world, four decades after becoming a Broadway sensation.

Director Dr. Angelique Feaster Evans has assembled an award-winning cast including Sharon Penson (Lady in Blue), Mary Jones (Lady in Green), Tunya Williams (Lady in Orange), Moriah L. Hicks (Lady in Brown),

Tianna Andrews (Lady in Purple),

Jade Brossett (Lady in Yellow), and Angelique Feaster Evans (Lady in Red).

Choreography by Roshanda D. Spears.

The play explores mature themes; not recommended for ages under 15.

FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE / WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
